Three richly detailed chests, square, round and hexagonal, are hand-painted in deep burgundy, black and teal with gilded accents, and each is lined in red satin. Inside rest real 23 karat gold suspended in a hand-blown glass globe, pure frankincense harvested from Boswellia trees in Oman and Yemen, and the highest grade Arabian myrrh. In the ancient world, gold and frankincense were equally valuable, and myrrh was worth seven times its weight in gold.

A certificate of authenticity accompanies every set, and a fitted box keeps the chests safe from one Christmas to the next. Designed to coordinate with the 14-inch Real Life Nativity, or to stand on their own on a mantel. If you choose to burn the frankincense or myrrh, place a small piece on a fireplace ember or charcoal burner; a little goes a long way.
